I don't see why many people don't take advantage of Tyranitar's high attack power.
If a Curselax is good, wouldn't a Cursing Tyranitar be better?

Although, unlike lax, you'd still need to watch out for weaknesses.

I'm kind of a curse-aholic. 8)

Probably because he has the highest attack in the game and doesn't really need curse except for the defense. If you do decide to use it, make sure it at least has rest.

So you'll need Curse and Rest, which use half your slots. There goes the versatility that Tyranitar is known for.

When you've got a 700-odd AT rating, you're allowed to be a little bit plain. I see nothing wrong with Ancientpower, Earthquake, Curse and Restberry. Except for Skarmory, blah, blah, blah, put Thunderbolt over Earthquake and watch the sucker fry, blah, blah.

STAB + Double-Edge = Pancakes

Something Tyranitar does not have.

Except the fact that at max attack against a neutral opponent with 278 defense, Double-Edge on a Snorlax does 464-546 damage, whereas Rock Slide on a Tyranitar would do 291-342 to the same enemy.

Yeah...what makes tyran so good is that it is one of the very few pokes who can use 4 attacks without too much fear.

Cursing could be good but with the number of roarers and hazers I can't see it working.

If you want to make your tyran kinda original, make it a roarer, or even better, give it pursuit and switch in on a psychic! If they were to have used psychic = no damage, they will switch and get whacked by a 120 base damage pursuit! NICE!!!!

I created Pursuiting Houndoom... It was back when it was Final Blow Herugaa, and I had some snappy name for it that I've since forgotten. ;_; Anyway, it didn't seem to catch on.

My tyranitar has rock slide, flamethrower, surf/thunderbolt, roar with leftovers. no real need for earthquake and surf is often better than ice beam.

heh...I tested a Cursing Tyranitar today.
It completely destroyed a max stat Curselax.

I'm trying to decide on a good moveset though.

The only thing that would really help in his set would be a good Recover move.

I need to replace either Rock Slide, Earthquake, or crunch...but I can't
decide.

Which should I remove?

You wouldn't NEED Ancientpower, because the stat boost very rarely happens, and you're getting Curses anyway. Rock Slide would be a better choice.

*sighs* curselax isn't that great. I believe even when fully cursed, a ch from cross chop brings the sucker to around 30% health (don't believe me, i have the log...somewhere...). IMHO, Tyranitar is a better poke that lax, but that's just from my experience with both pokemon. It just may be because there is so much protection for lax in today's metagame...

Critical Hit won't apply the Curses, so it'll do just the same.

Anyways, I've used Cursing T-Tar for a LOOOOOOOONG time, and it's worked well... Curse, Rest, RS, Earthquake is great!

In GSC, Curse affects CH. Besides, I think T-Tar is versatile enough. And with a HP Flying and 700-odd attack rating, the big lizard has nothing to fear from Fighting types either. A T-Tar's HP Flying does an average of 158 damage to Machamp. So if you think they'll be smart & switch to 'Champ, you can give 'em a little going-away present >:D

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs, huge erections, and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.
