Yes, I have cooked up a Set that can KO all known Steel-types. It Amnesias, Toxics, they switch to a Steel to keep from Toxic damage. Slowbro's Atk and Spl Atk make EQ and Flamethrower about equal damage. Amnesia so they won't switch to a Dark-type.

Slowbro@Miracleberry
Amnesia
Toxic
Earthquake
Flamethrower

My Cyndaquil can kill all da Steel Pokeymans.
And my Pikachu can two.

But watch out for da Poison type Pockeymons.
Arbok awlmost kilt my Pikachu with Eurthqyake and Crobat used Hiddin Powar and almost made my Cyndaquil feint!

Edit: Seriously though, the only real Steel threats are Forrestress (Spikes), Skarmory, and Scizor (very common on newbie teams). Steelix is rare and Magneton's amazing Special Defense really hurts it.

Forrest and Sciz are two of the most common, and are 2x weak to Fire. So the solution is to simply use a decent Fire Pokemon.

Though the standard Typhlosion (F-thrower, T-Punch, Earthquake, Sunny Day), or at least what was considered "standard" last time I check, since I haven't played in a few months, can take most Steel types.

English please.

For steel killers, its usually not smart to use Attacks(Fighting,Ground, etc.) and instead use Spec.Attacks(Fire,Water,etc.)
Why you may ask? Well, Steel types usually have high defense, so they may survive a blow of earthquake or cross chop. There Spec.Defense is usually above average, or below, Thus, making a fire move(water for steelix) much more powerful.

Fire moves do just as much damage to Steelix as Water moves, so your "Water for Steelix" comment makes no sense.

Fire is super effective on every Steel type, wheras Water is only super effective on Steelix since Steelix is also a ground type.

Do the Research before speaking.

¬_¬ I DID the research, f00. I use Steelix all the time. I just pointed out that a Flamethrower will do just as much damage to a Steelix as a Surf (hypothetically speaking of course, as the Flamethrower and Surf would have to come from Pokés with equal Special Attack to do equal damage).

A majority of us ARE intelligent. However, with like most places, there are a few village idiots running free (yes Rei, you know who I'm talking about). Of course, much like Ash, even the dimmest idiot has a few shining points. In any case, stay if you'd like to meet the many "smart" people at this board. If you'd much rather insult us and then, leave, then fuck you. Either way, please have a nice day.

EDIT: Oh yes, and I'd also like to agree with you that Ground attacks aren't THAT useful when you consider Steelix's high Defense and Scizor and Forretress' double resistance, but isn't that bad against Magneton, who has double weakness to it.

thar be loads of steel killers! far, being duh best!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steel is actually a prettty nice type to have defensivly, seeing as it has so many resistance, and w/ the types its combined with sometimes, they can be pretty nice, like Skarrmory, have a Thick club 'Wak take out the fire and electric types, have your Blissey for back-up, and Skarrmory owuld own, especially since it laughs in the face of any TSS team that doesnt have a magneton or f-blasting Ttar. Scizor is okay, but it has a slim in hell of survivng even fire punch, as does Foretress, IMO these pokes are sot of useles *hides behind cardboard box to avoid the rotten tomatoes being thrown*
Scizor haas a great attack, and can bp, but there are lots of pokemon w/ grreat attack already, and w/out the 4x weakness. As for BPing, well, SCYTHER MIGHT be better MIGHT BE, because of an increased speed, but thats about it, but Scizor does have nice endurance, but I still prefer to have something like a mime or girafarig or Umbreon pass amnesia, mean look, agility, or barrier, the only thing they cant do that scizor can do is Swords Dance. AAS for foretress, It becomes obsolete w/ the crystal Cloyster, who can do its job better, and can be equiped w/ leftovers to counterr snastorm if necessary.

As ofr SKArmory, its a jewel, no intro needed, MAGneton should be used more, and w/ raindance, protect/twave, hp water, thunder, believe maggy is too great offensivly to waste time charging up so i like protect over twave. Seelix is horrible, as shuckle would e better to wear enemies down, and marowak or ttar would be better to sweep.

I shur hopp dat cears up som 'fusion

Skarmory is purty hurhuhrur

and dun argue wit me, i just bring you down to my level
