...of Blissey and Skarmory. How do you stop it without pp wars? I'm noticing it's getting more and more popular on the bots. The best I have come up with are a fire blast machamp/snorlax or a crystal cross chop electabuzz. I'm not sure if these pokemon are good ideas for other purposes, though, so please help me.

Tyranitar works. Rock Slide for Blissey, Fire Blast/Tbolt for Skarmory.

hmmmm..... maybe a rapidashh w/ doouble kick?^_~;;

bah, mag and buzz woould do it, but im not sure if you can get barrier and cross chop in the same set. mar, is probably beter because it can get confusion and w/ that set buzz cant paralyze, but i dont know who has the higher attack and special attack stat, but machamps SA doesnt seem to cut it if you want to use F-Blast. Of course, a trapping Poliwrath w/ fissure, would be good against blissey, especially if it rellies mostly on counter so:

whirl pool
fissure
mind reader
dynamic punch?

would be okay, and then all youd worry bout is skarmory. but i dont think anybody would be dense enough to leave blissey againsta fighting type unless you used a mean look passing umbreon, which would mostly lure out fighters to which your eggy would kll ^_~;

I think Machamp and Snorlax have the same special attack, and without including leftovers, both would then be guaranteed a 2HKO on skarmory with fire blast. With leftovers, minimum damage fire blasts wouldn't do it. Their special attack isn't in question, as it would only be used for the steels which have special defense as bad or almost as bad as machamp/snorlax's special attack. The only question is if it's worth giving up one of snorlax's moves like counter/earthquake just for skarmory and steels. I have to say, the idea is starting to grow on me now.

actually, i beg to differ, even with leftovers, skarmory is still usually an 2HKO. One fire blast brings skarm down to 44% health, that took away 56% health. with leftovers, the skarm can pull off 50% health. he's still dead in the next hit unless u miss.

Heracross: That's true, but I was talking about two minimum damage fire blasts from snorlax, which are unlikely, but possible. On the calc I used I got minimum damage to be 167. Double that, it's 334, skarmory has 333 HP. So leftovers would allow skarmory to survive two minimum damage fire blasts.

Just so I can see what we are dealing with, what are the exact movesets these Blisseys and Skarmories are getting?

I know that it's prob. like Softboiled + Counter, etc... but, there can be many many different varieties, so, which ones are you usually facing the most? Thanks...

Luckily my Exploding Gengar usually does the trick on Blisseys. Hehehe...

yes, exploding on a blissey usually does the job. as for skarmory, sneak thunderbolt/flamethrower on a pokemon that normally wouldn't have it, but has a decent enough SA to pull it off.

I'm mostly talking about a heal bell/softboiled blissey, and a whirlwinding skarmory. But the blissey only really needs softboiled to be unbearably annoying.

Apart from TTar, Marwowak with Fire Blast can get the job done. I've also found out that Misdreavus with Tbolt will work quite nicely...I don't think it'll be worth dropping something like DBond though.

Hmm. For some reason I like that idea. Tbolt could also be used decently on suicune (another common roarer). Interesting idea...

*points to E, who did use them in conjunction last night*

Definitely a PP war.

Unless you're prepared for such a combo, it is somewhat difficult. =(

t-bolt on Missy could be an interesting counter to Suicune.

I prefer to use Dragonite against Blissy and SteelTypes.

Dragonite@Leftovers/Miracleberry
- Extremespeed
- Flamethrower/Fire Blast
- Haze
- Wing Attack

It is nice, too when another PKMN uses Curse+ Baton Pass.
After passing Curse to Dragonite use Extremespeed and bye bye Blissy.

Actually, I've already made a T-bolting Missy. Use it in my robo team, and proud rapist of 2 Skarmory already.

It's also quite nice to surprising critically low HP pokés that come out and think they can recover off the damage with Rest/Leftovers, then get smacked in the face by a T-bolt and KOed.

Problem is, you either gotta give up Perish Trapping, somewhat destroying the purpose of using Missy at all (seeing as how Gengar does virtually everything else better), Destiny Bond (which allows a near-guantee kill on at least something, ro screwing up Snorlaxen), or Protect (severely destroying most of the reason Missy lives so long). It's good if you're willing to give up DB, since I personally don't think the move's all that effective anymore...=/

okay, t-bolt on Suicune would be a pretty damn good idea. Then when a Starmie comes up against u, u won't have to wait to mirrorcoat (it usually paralyzes first.)

As for Blissey: Marowak could get the job done, by giving him fire blast. But the only decent way to use fb on wak is with sunny day, which rules out HP Bug (which ownz eggy and celebi). Snorlax would be one of ur best bets. If I remember right, one double-edge takes blissey down to 50%, which isn't so good for u if the blissey has counter. Which is why u find that out first by either cursing, or attacking with a spc. att. Then, Skarmory would have some problems. The only downfall to this is u may curse to max while blissey is out, then OHKO blissey, but on Skarmory, all u'll be able to do is get rid of 56% of it's health with FireBlast before it whirlwind's u away.

Just some ideas....

The fact that Suicune cannot learn Thunderbolt is a problem.

Unfortunately, Suicune has barely above about an Articuno-level of TM compatibility.

I think what was meant was using the move Thunderbolt against a Suicune.

An autolax would work(Earthquake, double edge, fire blast, selfdestruct) Fire blast Skarmory, blow up on blissey. Only problem is that Autolax is a starter and these won't be. Counter Champ would work too.
