I recently bought a gameshark, and I discovered that it is only for gameboy pocket and gameboy color, not gameboy classic. The reason for that, is because there is a tab that sticks out on gameboy classic when you turn on the power to prevent the game from coming out. Since there is no "slice" in the gameshark, I can't turn the power on.

So if I break the tab off, would the gameshark work? I'm guessing yes, because gameboy pocket is just a smaller gameboy classic without the tab. But I want to be sure that there isn't some other factor that would prevent it from working (eg. perhaps some chips in the gameboy pocket/color that have changed since classic) before I just go and snap the tab off. Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Yes, they work. It's just that by this time, the companies believe everyone to have upgraded to Color or Advance. Try using a set of pliers to twist it off. Don't use a knife or scissors, because you'll just slip and stab yourself.

Heh, I got impatient and just went ahead and did it before anyone replied. Naturally it worked just fine. I got my dad to cut it off with one of those knives you use for cutting metal. I had to try it a couple times (I used tetris just in case) to get it to work, I have to remember to be careful not to bump the game because it doesn't have anything to hold it on the shark. After much tinkering, I figured out how to enter codes, and when to have the GS switch on and when to have it off. Now I have a max stat curselax ready to go!

Thanks for your replies guys
