I know a kid who's dad works at toys-r-us. he got this thing for his B-day called brain boy. What it is is a gameshark that's specifically made for pokemon (RBY, tcg GB, pinball, etc.). Its good for people like me who don't know like the addresses and variables and what not to change around to get things to happen.

Any who, one thing it can do is when you want a pokemon, you enter the name and level and stuff like that, you can also pick its ID #. so the way to win that GSC contest is make a pokemon with the winning ID number and then trade it from RBY to GSC and *POFF* you win.

Umm... you can do this with a Gameshark too. Brain Boys are common as muck, and you can just edit the Lucky Number ID# too.

Ok, just to clear up some misconceptions.

There are two types of Brain Boys.

One for Red/Blue and maybe Yellow

and one that only works for Gold and Silver

I got the one for Gold and Silver, and, it will not work on crystal, which sucks...

Anyway, here is the offical website for the MonsterBrain G/S one that I have.

It's not a bad device if the only sharking you'll ever do is on Pokémon Gold and Silver only! It has an ok interface to do the hard stuff for you, but, if you want to be a serious hacker and do more than just G/S get a GameShark...

P.S. It has a memory backup thing that works for all games (not just pokemon) that have a saved game, or atleast they should work, in other words, it also acts as a MegaMemoryCard.
