My POKéMON is an expert at collect- ing SWEET HONEY.
I'll share some with you.

I want to give you some SWEET HONEY,
but you have no room for it.

Here you go! Have some SWEET HONEY!

JACK received SWEET HONEY.

My little brother takes SWEET HONEY
and goes somewhere with it.
I wonder what he's up to?

Did you put SWEET HONEY on a tree?
What happened to it?

Did you put SWEET HONEY on a tree?
It takes about a day for POKéMON to be drawn to it.

BUTTERFREE: Freeh!

We think something caused the cryptic
patterns to appear in the RUINS.
We've focused our studies on that.

According to my research…
Those mysterious patterns appeared
when the POKéCOM CENTER was built.
It must mean that radio waves have
some sort of a link…

I hear there's a POKéMON that looks just like a tree.
You can reveal its identity using a SILPHSCOPE2.

- - - - - - - - - -

Never seen this shit before. Perhaps the SILPHSCOPE2 was a previous name for the SQUIRTBOTTLE. But what's SWEET HONEY? Is it like the opposite of a MAX REPEL? Does it exist in the game? Likewise, does the SILPHSCOPE2 exist?

Rather odd....I double-checked the game's data to see that text actually is in there...well, about the SWEET HONEY. Couldn't find anything with the 'SILPHSCOPE2'

Well, the TEXT is there, but these aren't actual Items in the game. It's odd that they'd bother to translate something that wasn't even used in the Japanese Versions...

I have an idea what SWEET HONEY was, or was going to be...

"Did you put SWEET HONEY on a tree?
It takes about a day for POKéMON to be drawn to it."

It was probably an item you could buy, or had to get in the wild, from a trainer, etc..

That, you would go to a tree in the wild, use the SWEET HONEY on a tree, and then come back tomorrow to the same tree. Then, I would guess that if you headbutted the tree that a rare Pokémon (or somewhat rare) would appear, or maybe the icon of a Pokémon would be there on the screen near the tree. Like, a Butterfree could be next to the tree and when you approach it and press A..

"Butterfree: Freeeh!"

Wild Butterfree Appears

Then you can capture it, etc...

If that's what it was for, which I bet it was, it's kinda dumb that they didn't do it that way...

Maybe, Sweet honey was before Headbutt, and the only way to get the tree Pokémon was via Sweet Honey and waiting a day. That might explain the episode of Pokémon where Butterfree and Heracross liked to eat the sap from trees, etc..

I bet that what I said above was the case, at least at some point in time.

I remember this from a long, long, long time ago. You do realize that this data is in Gold/Silver just the same, right? ^_^

So there's a POKéCOM CENTER in Gold and Silver? What's the beef with that?

Oops, that's a mistake on my part. By the time I read down to the last post, I'd forgotten about that part up there. I was refering to the Sweet Honey and Silphscope2, I think. Sorry, I have a very bad memory--even as I read down a single message thread.

This is why he doesn't post the rest of his knowledge. As a side note, I found out how to use a shark to DIG to the PCC in GOLDENROD, but you have to DIG from the BURNED TOWER. Just use the DIG TO PCC ADMIN CENTER codes. The only problems are:

  • You land inside the POKéMON NEWS MACHINE and can't move unless you shark the walk through walls code.
  • There's nobody there...
  • After about two minutes, the whole place goes kablammy and acts weird.
  • You can't get out through the doors, or by DIGging or FLYing.

Is there a more stable version in the game, or do these things happen because of the outtake?
