Most people who translate roms are idiots because 1:The text is totally wrong, I have one pokemon blue translation that says bulbasuar is a ROCK pokemon! 2:They never compare the text with the english version (or whatever language they are translating to). 3:The game is usually released before the tranlation is finished. 4:They give up too easily.

I could easily translate Pokemon Green because all I would have to do is read everything in Red or Blue! (The text of these games is EXACTLY the same!)

That would be great....except for one problem. The way the code is put together. The Japanese text is different from the English text, it's smaller.

Example, the space it takes to say Good Morning Ash, how are you? in Japanese is smaller, so if you were to directly translate it in the game it would come out. Good Morning Ash, how ar

When translating inside the game using a program like Thingy, you only have so much space to work with, unless you have the knowledge to change the pointers (and most hobby translators don't), you have to be conservative on what you put in the game.

So if you were to translate a ROM of Green using our R/B as an example, and you didn't know how to change pointers, then you would have to take shortcuts and abrevations
