I'm somewhat considering getting a Shark, but I'm unsure of which I should choose, specially after hearing storys about some sharks not working with Pokémon.

I have a GBC and Pokémon R, B & Y. Soon I will get S, and it would be nice if I could shark S as well.

What's the shark for me? I don't think I'll need "connect to internet" and "online" features.

I myself have an On-line shark v3.1. I love it very much, I can organize my codes a lot easier with it. It saves codes both on my shark and my computer. It hooks into the comp via the parallel port so it's a good idea to have at least two. I only have one and have to un-hook my printer to use it. It works with R/B/Y/G/S just fine and it's longer so it doesn't touch the battery part like my old grey model did.

My shark was about $40.00 Canadian

I own three GameSharks: an old, grey one, a black GS Pro 3.0, and the new 3.1. Each one has it's own strength. The grey one is simplistic and easy to use, just enter the code to be used. The Pro 3.0 has the same feature, and they added the Code Generator so you could make your own codes, except it has no Known Search value, and when you hit the GS Button on top, it resets the game. GS 3.1 doesn't reset the game. It doesn't have a place to just enter codes for one time use, though. You have to add them to it's list of codes, which can be a pain for newbies to the GameShark. It can hook to your computer (although it didn't work on either Acer brand computer's I tried it on), and from there you can download Snapshots of the game(basically game saves that can be saved any where) and upload other Snapshots to the PC and download or upload code lists of your most used codes.

All in all, it depends on what type of codes you would be using. If you were going to be using the same codes day in and day out, then the 3.1 would help the best. If you were going to keep changing the codes for each day, though, a 3.0 or the older grey model would be best.

By the way, all of mine work with Pokemon (Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver) and I have yet to screw up my game using codes.

I'm having the same problem. I have the grey one but that one seems to delete my game save more likely so I'm looking for a new one! What codes I'd be using would be like Move edits, IV edits, that sort of stuff. Which would be good for me?
