In G/S You can lose Exp via the day care centre:
1.Get a pokémon that you can see the blue bar on.
2.Give to the man(or woman)
3.Get it back and look its lost Exp(its just as if it you gave it a rare candy.

please elaborate. giving your pokéy a rare candy INCREASES exp. it just lowers the blue bar because an empty bar on a lvl 2 pokémon is the same as a full bar on a lvl 1 pokémon (to use one example).

i ASSUME you know this, so what are you talking about?

Starwolf means that if you need 500 exp. to gain a level and you gain 100 of that before you put the pokemon in the daycare and then take it immediately out, it will no longer have that 100 exp. and you'll have to gain all 500 to gain a level.

Yeah, I just noticed that the other day. Apparently they don't give the "step experience" directly to the Pokemon, but hold it in some other part of memory until you take it out. At that point, it's transferred over on an all-or-nothing basis...
