This thing acts like a gameshark, it has a part where you can enter what is kinda like GameShark codes (they call em "Pokes") anyway, is there a way that I could somehow use this knowledge to build my own "Poke" to do what I want to with it? The only "Pokes" I have are ones that the website of the people who make the device run.

If you could check this out for me I would appreciate it, thank you...

Looks like the Monster Brain has Galoob's Game Genie's style of scrambling the codes just for the sake of confusing us and to make them look like "codes." Looking at the given codes and what they do, it seems that the Monster Brain codes do indeed work the same way as GameShark codes. There should exist a formula for converting GameShark codes to Monster Brain codes and vice versa. I'll keep you updated if I find the formula.

This one came real easy. Here's step-by-step instructions for converting a GameShark code into a Monster Brain code.

Take a GameShark code. For an example, let's say the code for grabbing all three starter pokemon from Prof. Elm: 0100BAD7

The first two digits in a GameShark code are pretty meaningless. They can be either 01 or 91 for a working code. In this case they're 01.

The third-and-fourth digits are the value, in this case 00 (hex).

The fifth-and-sixth digits are the lower byte of the address, in this case BA (hex).

The seventh-and-eighth digits are the higher byte of the address, in this case D7 (hex).

So the full address is D7BA (hex).

For the Monster Brain, the address is biased by a minus 3198 (hex)
D7BA - 3198 = A622 (hex) (Monster Brain address)

In the final monster brain code, the address goes in the third-through-sixth spots, and the value goes in the seventh-and-eighth spots.

So we get for our incomplete Monster Brain code: ??A62200

For the first two spots where I put the question marks "??", there is supposed to be a checksum. The sum of all four pairs of digits must be equal to FF, i.e. "??" + A6 + 22 + 00 = FF (hex)
so, "??" = FF - A6 - 22 - 00 = 37 (hex)

Now we have a preliminary Monster Brain code of 37A62200.

Lastly, we translate all digits using this chart:
0 -> A
1 -> C
2 -> D
3 -> E
4 -> F
5 -> H
6 -> I
7 -> K
8 -> L
9 -> M
A -> N
B -> O
C -> R
D -> S
E -> T
F -> U

And the code we get is EKNIDDAA, which is exactly what it says on the Monster Brain website.

If these instructions are too much work to follow, then don't bother. I wrote a Windows program to translate any code for you. It can convert from GameShark to Monster Brain and vice versa. You can download it here.
