Today I took about $30.00 US of my money and invested in a CodeBreaker by Pelican Accessories. This utility is for Gameboy and is a lot better than the GB's GameShark. It includes many of the features that we expected in the GameShark but wasn't there, such as the memory editor/viewer. Now you can view your pokemon's genes easily with no hassle.

I highly recommend this utility to serious Pokemon sharkers. It even comes with the standard Pokemon disclaimer and promotes another utility, the BrainBoy, which is supposedly designed just for Pokemon R/B/Y. I haven't experienced any problems yet with erased saves or anything. I'll post an update if anything goes wrong.

I don't wanna spend money!

*sob*

Guess I need one now... memory viewer / editor was previously relegated to the role of the emulator...

Cool.

CodeBreaker supports Shark codes and, I think, ROM codes. You can enter Shark codes in the old format, but to convert to the new format:

SHARK CODE: 01AAXXYY
CODEBREAKER FORMAT: 01YYXX-AA

I found mine at Babbage's. You can also order one online at www.pelicanacc.com if you can't find one in a retail store.

Fortunately for us, most newbies are retards and can't figure out how to shark wisely anyways. When I was a newbie, I just gave my pokemon the infinite health code and figured i was invincible... newbie logic + newbie idiocy = little bastard.

At least CodeBreaker is a little bit more straightforward than Gameshark. It's just (01 or 91)(memory space)-(value), which is better than (01or 91)(value)(memory space put backwards).

As for the BrainBoy, it's no good anymore. They announced it a few months back, but they should have made it a year back. It's too late and the least they could do is to put G/S in there.

Add a Sakaki disclaimer: All codes here are for Gameshark. Convert your codes to Gameshark format before posting.

Most emulators should be able to do BrainBoy/GodeBreaker by now.
