I have a mega memory card that I plan on using for pokemon silver. The problem is I don't know how to use it. I do what the instruction book says but it does'nt do anything.

Can someone give me a detailed explanation on how to use this thing with pokemon silver?

Off note question: Where the fudge cherry cream oatmeal pie is heracross?

If your Silver game starts up with the Card in, then turn off the game boy, switch the little switch, and try it. The card should start up for you.

Select "Backup" (use the D-pad and hit 'A'), enter a name for the save file, and choose "End". To restore, choose "Restore" and pick the file you want to use.

Let's see, I go to backup, I type in a save file name. (does this name need to be the same name has the character on my silver cart) I go to restore. After it says all that stuff about 'working' it brings me back to the main menu of the card. I though at first that I had to turn the card and gameboy off the turn just the gameboy on and go to continue and there would be the file name I restored but apparently it does not work like that and i'm missing something. Is there supposed to be some way I save the game on silver while the mega mem card is off that will make a seperate save file? It seems the only info I have is basic info.....I know how to go to backup and type in a name but I need to know what name. And what do I do after it brings me back to the main page of the card? Do I turn it off like I stated up there? I suck at this....

THE COMPLETE IDIOT'S GUIDE TO MEGAMEM FOR GAMEBOY (note: I'm not calling anyone an idiot in particular, this just happens to be a catchy title ^_^)

TO SAVE TO MEGAMEM:

Step 1: ensure that you have a saved game on your Pokemon cart.
Step 2: connect the Pokemon cart to the MegaMem and insert it into the Gameboy. turn on the Gameboy.
Step 3: you should see the MegaMem menu, if you do not, flip the switch at the top and try again.
Step 4: choose Save, enter a name for your game (doesn't matter, but try to use a descriptive name e.g. SLV001 for Silver save)
Step 5: the game should now be backed up on your MegaMem.

TO RESTORE A SAVE:

Step 1: Follow Steps 2 and 3 under "TO SAVE".
Step 2: Choose Restore.
Step 3: Find the name of the saved game you want to restore and press A.
Step 4: The MegaMem will copy the saved game into your Pokemon cart.
Step 5: Remove the MegaMem from the Game Boy and remove Pokemon from the MegaMem. Put Pokemon back into your Game Boy and you should now have the saved game you just restored. You may have to set the clock again.

If the game does not save correctly, or when you restore your saved game you don't get the game you saved before, then there is probably something wrong with your MegaMem.
