I was worried about my saved data being erased when using a gameshark for the first time, so I did the most sensible thing: bought a Mega Memory card.
But when I get it home, it doesn't work with my blue cartridge! I tested it out on two other Pokemon game paks and it worked fine, but when I plug my blue version into it and turn the Megamem switch on and turn the Game Boy on, all I get is a blank screen.
What could the problem be? I know I followed the instructions correctly, and it can't be a problem with the Mega Memory Card itself because it worked with other games. Maybe its a problem with the game pak. I'v used the missingno trick a few times, could that be the problem? Has anyone else encountered something like this before?

What version is it? And also, make sure to blow any dust away from the the cart connector, on the GB, the MM card, and the cartridge. If that don't help, send it to Interact or whoever it is in America.

It happens to all my carts.

The solution?

Simply put in 3 steps:

1.) Put your cart in the Megamem (which is already inside the gameboy by now.)

2.) Grab a folded cardboard, paper, small instruction booklets, etc.. (I usually start with three or four folds for paper and two for booklets. The more folds, the higher the cart will go) .

3.) Slide the cardboard in between the Gameboy's back and the back of the cartridge. If it still doesn't work adjust the cardboard or add more folds.

What happens is that the Mega Mem's connector has no grips, so many cartridges don't fit correctly in. The paper prop works because it raises the cart at a higher angle where the Mega Mem reads the cart.

(My sister's does work amazingly, without the cardboard)

You can also use it for gameshark if you have the same problem 'cause they have the same plastic casings.
