The grass around Pallet shouldn't have Route 1's enemy line-up, because their maps/events/etc are defined in two difrferent places. I've tried using a "walk-thru-walls" code on an emulator, bu tthe game freezes when leaving Pallet on either side, since no data exists there for walking on. The grass is just what I call the "border". A single hex value decides the borders, and in Pallet Town, the hex value merely defines the borders as being grass, with nothing to define wild Pokémon in the grass.However, to test and see if Pallet's grass really does save Route 1's Pokémon, without the game crashing, a code to alter the map and put grass on Pallet Town's map, in the middle somewhere, can be tried, which clearly shows that there are no wild Pokémon to be fought in Tall Grass in Pallet Town. --Meowth346
