Okay, I changed my Name to match the OT of all my Pokemon (I had used a code to change it originally but I wanted the old one back temporarily so I could give all of my Pokemon cool nicknames)... My ID, of course, matches, AND THE GUY STILL WON'T LET ME RENAME THEM!!! My theory is that there is more to name structure than we know about when we pick a starting name (I could find out but I don't have PRO and am too unskilled to look in a ROM)... The original name is "Jeffrey" (even though that's not my real name at all) so I changed the new six digit name with the code and correspondingly entered it exactly, and then put 50 in slot 62 (rather technical I know), or the code:
015062D1 I think it is...

What am i doing wrong?

It renamed me fine... I used this:

018958D1
01A459D1
01A55AD1
01A55BD1
01B15CD1
01A45DD1
01B85ED1
015062D1

Should I put something in 5F-61? Those three digits would be left NULL (00) right?

Any help is greatly appreciated...

I think somebody posted something here before about that...

Put in 010092CF and rename a Pokémon that you caught yourself. Have the Pokémon that you didn't catch that you want to rename in the 1st spot.

I had the almost the same problem you did Katsura, and GolemKong was nice enough to help me out. here is his excellent post that explains it very clearly.

GolemKong:

If you want to change the name of a pokemon whose IdNo or OT don't match yours, Enter the code 010091CF on yellow (010092CF on red/blue I think)

Go to the name rater.
Put the pokemon that you want to rename at the top of your team.
Talk to the name rater and ask him to rate the name of one of your other pokemon whose OT and IdNo DO match yours.Turn on the GS switch when you're at the screen where you enter the name.

There, now the new name will be given to the pokemon at the top of your team, regardless of whether it had an "impeccable name."

(End of quote)

If you're still having problems, just ask!

I never said he created it; I said he HELPED me understand the code. I did credit him with the wrong post (JDonald wrote it). I was thinking of GolemKong who helped me separetly with code before I read that post. I had not idea who orginally came up with it, or I might have mentioned it. Thank you Jdonald (if youi're reading this )it's a great code and I'm sure I'm not alone when I say we really appreciate all your hard work.
