I have a few pokemon that are going to remain female no MATTER what. My Vaporeon, my Flareon, and my Ninetales. Alas, in order to be male ::rolls eyes:: you have to have the upper echelon of attack genes, if I've understood correctly (yes I know this isn't true in all cases). My question is,can the gameshark be used to get around this,
giving my female Flareon with a higher attack that normally only a male could achieve...there is NO WAY, LOL, that my Flareon is a male and I don't care if I end up having to settle for a lower attack rate, but I'd rather not have to if possible.

BTW, I THOUGHT I read somewhere that in the gold and silver you got to choose whether or not you played a female trainer or a male trainer but then I read something somewhere else that indicated otherwise. So which is it? Thanx for you help! Considering that MEN created this game, I'm not getting my hopes up ^_^

Well,I've got codes to change the sex of your top Pokemon,but it never worked for me(I was playing on a translated ROM,BYW).

The Male/Female trainer option was dropped right before it came out in Japan. Sorry, StarShelle!

The problem is that the genes are viewed dynamically in order to determine sex. So if you wanted a Flareon with an attack gene of 15 to be female, you would have to modify the way the program itself works. You would probably need Gamegenie for this: but assuming Gameshark worked, you would *definitely* need to have the cheat device plugged in in order for it to work on a constant basis.

Just do what I'm going to do: have eeveelutions with weak attacks

Seriously, having an attack gene of "1" might make you have 28 less points of attack, but that isn't so bad...

It'll hurt less when you're confused...

Or just convince yourself that the game is erroneosly viewing your monster as the wrong sex, and it's as indigant about it as you are.

Flareon is the only Eeveelution where the Attack gene really matters...
