use the code to pick any pokémon from oak and put squirtle as the one you pickbut ake the pokeball that is bulbasaurs. That should work

Start with any Pokemon in R/B: 01xx1ED1

Squirtle's code is B1, so enter 01B11ED1, then pick what would normally be Bulbasaur's Pokeball (the one on the right). You will have Squirtle, but Gary will still get Charmander.
