I just recently did the Missingno trick on Stadium with my blue cartrige and saw that the game saves before you enter battle with missingno. Anyone know why? I'd assume it's to save your butt just in case your game crashes.

Well, here's my theory:

You know how finding Missigno. messes up your Hall of Fame? I think it does that even if you don't save. Well, when you encounter Missingno., I beleive it saves the glitched-up hall of fame. I think. That's just my thoery.

That might be true. After beating the E4 the hall of fame saves the pokemon as you see below the screen. So when the HOF changes the game must save it
