Everyone knows that Pikachu and Eevee evolve through the usage of Stones, right? Well, people have reported that these (normally Stone-Induced evolution) Pokémon have evolved without the usage of a Stone. There is a training process that people refer to Piggy-Backing (I think) where you begin battle with PKMN A, then switch over to PKMN B so that B can defeat the Wild Pokémon, and A can still rake in the EXP. (Since this technique is most notable used with a Magikarp, I refer to it as "Karping" myself.) The reports say that when "Piggy Backing" a Pokémon that would normally evolve only via Stone, would in turn evolve at a level like just about any other Pokémon would. For example, I could take a Pikachu, put it in slot one, then every battle, swap Pikachu for my stronger Pokémon, Blastoise, to fight. Eventually, Pikachu would evolve after raising a certain level. Now, I've never seen this myself, and I'm wondering if anyone ehre's had this happen to them. Not to your best friend, not to the ice cream man that passes by daily, not to your neighbor's cat, but to you specifically. I'm trying to figure out this "non-stone evolution", and I caught an Exeggcute (to finally put an Exeggutor on my team), and I've raised it fom Safari Zone-caught to level 62, Pigged through the Elite 4 and Cerulean Cave while on vacation for a week, but not evolution yet. So, I'm just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them, and if they could tell me about what level the Pokémon was caught on, where they were Piggy Back-trained, and at what level they evolved. --Meowth346, who's glad to be back home with his Dodrio Gameboy! ------------------ PokéResearcher in charge of Pokémon Forever found via http://anime.at/pokefor

Yep, it's a glitch. It is important to know however, that not just any pokemon will work. You see, if the second pokemon has a hex value that matches the hex value of an evolution stone, and if the first pokemon is compatible with that stone, it will evolve. To simplify: You need a specific pokemon for each type of stone evolution. Here's the list: Thunderstone - Hex 21 - Growlithe Water Stone - Hex 22 - Onix Leaf Stone - Hex 2F - Psyduck Moon Stone - Hex 0A - Exeggutor Fire Stone - Hex 20 - Missingno. As you can see, you won't be getting Flareon anytime soon, unless you plan to carry a Missingno. around, or just take the easier way and buy a Fire Stone. I'm also pretty sure this only works on R/B. This glitch was supposedly fixed in Yellow.

whichmonster du i Use toget the MIST sotne!? Sorry,
Ok, the Z64 glitches: (1) Really long hookshot you need an early version of the cartridge (all gold and some grey). You know when you fight Gannon at the end, and he knocks your sword away? Well, save and quit, then reset. If your game is old enough, You'll start back up as adult Link with no sword equipped. Remember all those beta shots that showed Link on Epona with different items out? Well, the way they got around that was to keep the sword or bow active on the horse, apparently. Get on Epona, and ride around. Note that you can use items, like the hookshot, fire arrows, etc. It is glitchy, however (it evidently wasn't deemed appropriate for the final version, so it was never bug fixed or anything). Now go to Lake Hylia, and shoot the longshot while on Epona's back onto the target on that little house. Something wierd should occur (maybe it just can't heft a horse?), and, if you are lucky, you will be able to move around the board with the stick. (2) To play without the Kokiri sword, try this (requires balls): You know the areas you can eventually get through, but not right away (Mido, large bombable rocks)? Ok, go up to one of them and act as if you can walk through. Now you have to *slowly* lift up just the *LEFT* side of the cartridge. If you are doing it right, you will first hear static, then Link will begin to "flicker" (apparently, some PIN on the cartridge is responsible for drawing the main character!). When Link isn't drawn, he can walk through certain things. This will let you get to the first level before you have the sword (or shield, but you actually need that). Now, I have programming experience. I can't IMAGINE how I would code something that would respond to lifting the LEFT side of the cartridge. Oh, as soon as you are through the barrier, put the cart back. It is pretty easy to lock up the game this way, obviously. Check zhq.com, they probably have more info somewhere....
Wow, I can kinda see a misty shape in the distance that might be the original topic... I'm so far off I can't be sure...

Have you seen the VGX code around? Or the "Switch to Japanese charaters" cheat, all involving the "crooked cart"? Here's how to do it (copied off Odyssey of Hyrule): Start a game in the temple of time, Then Gently and SLOWLY pull up on the left side of the game pak, like you did in CROOKED CARTRIDGE. If you do it slow enough, the computer will become lagged and link will jump all over the screen and the sound will become very corrupted. If you let this happen for a few seconds (you may have to try to move link (or what used to be link) around, the n64's processor will become lagged and the game will lock up. ( This is going to be a diffrent lockup then usual, as you will see in the screenshots) - there is going to be a small-yellow-bar that will appear in the top left of the screen.....When you get the small yellow bar to appear there are some commands that you need to input on the controller to get the "Debug" code to appear on the screen (this will also show the release date for the game you have...... ) Follow these steps: * L button + R button + Z button * Control pad UP + "C" DOWN * "C" UP + Control pad DOWN * Control pad LEFT + "C" button left * "C" RIGHT + Control pad RIGHT * A button + B button + Start Button The debug/error code will not be shown unless you push each button. Example: in the first step you must push the Z button while HOLDING the L and the R.

Hell no! I'd never catch a Missingno, since I heard it does nasty things to your savegame! However,I think it would be a great way to get s good Exeggutor later on. Actually,I think that my Jigglypuff once tried to turn into a Wigglytuff,so you may be right. ------------------ "C.J. used SUPER ROD!"
