OK, with this tour co,ing up, me having 151 Pokémon in my Pokédex and not having an official Mew presents a leetle problem.

What exactly are the Trainer IDs and OT names for an official Mew?
I know I'll probably need the certificate to prove it, but unless my cousin gets his ass over here with it, I'm gonna have to 'Shark and official one' to at least have some chance.

Next: They say that they will check carts if you qualify for the finals.

Is there any way to bring a Pokédex down to 150 from 151.

And is there any way to tell that your game has been Missingoed/Sharked apart from the Hall of Fame??

Please dudes! I need this! Thanx a lot!

Well, if you're that desperate, just box all your pokemon in Stadium (if you have it), then restart your game. Bring all your pokemon back onto the new game, go to the tourney, blah blah, go home, load your pokemon back onto Stadium, don't save, and voila! Of course you will need very strong batteries.... I know it isnt a very good idea.

There's probably a code to clear the pokedex entirely, anyone know it?

Do you have a MegaMem? That would allow Anthrax's plan to work lots easier. If you don't know 'bout MegaMems, then you need to hear one of cfalcon's long preaching sessions about it.

You have to show up with the No. of POkémon in your pokedex that you registered with! And it's on Stadium.

I need proper answers please.

If you´re not gonna have it in your team, just give the MEW to some friend or release it.
If they check your game they´ll see you had MEW but if they ask you, just tell them someone trade you an oficial MEW just to get all 151 in your pokedex, but you had to trade him back. There is no way they´ll know if the MEW you had was an oficial one or a gamesharked one as long as you dont have it in your game.

I could give you the dox on my Mew, but that would mean nothing without the nice shiny Mew certificate that I have, with that recorded on it. The certificate is the real deal...

If they are megagay in checking, you may just want something that is super-wonkish, like all maxstats, perfect gened monsters...

OK, so let's go with a Toys R Us story....

Me and my cousin were in Toys R Us in <what month> to see if we could win an official Mew...

What exactly did we have to do?

I'm gonna say he won one and traded it to me and back, seeing as I didn't. But I need as much info on this Toys R Us venue as possible. Preferably East Coast, NY or PA, thanx!

They aren't gonna be *really* hard-assed about this, probably.

Just say your friend from the states got on at the X tour, where X is probably on Nintendo's pokemon webpage (Orlando tour, Miami tour, etc.).

I'm pretty sure they don't record exactly what Mews are given out, so if you want to use one (and don't have a certificate), make sure your OT is the same as the ones that have been given out, and the OT# matches appropriately.

If you aren't using one, just leave him in Stadium or something, and claim to have been traded it and back by your friend from the states. They can't expect you to have quickly memorized all relevant stats- half the kids don't even look at stats.

Basically, I wouldn't try to use a Mew unless I had a certificate.

And they probably won't hold you accountable if you had been traded a sharked Mew: "My friend gave it to me, he told me I could get it <west, east, north, south> of <Victory Road, Viridian City, the truck>, but I never got it to work, so I just traded over his for a minute to complete my pokedex."

They won't disqualify people unless they are *maliciously* cheating.

When I opened up my box in Stadium against the rep, it was plain as day that I had a shark: I had a bunch of Mewtwos, Mews, etc.

But I only played with legit ones, and he could have easily checked on that.

I have the same problem too Iyse. MY pokedex also says 151. I'm just going to release the couple of mews i sharked as i didn't really like him much anyway.

Slightly off topic but i own a US cart is there any differances? I know the games themselves are the same but what about the sticker on the cart? I'm kinda nervous that i might stand out with a US cart, if it is different, and they might want to check a little more closely.

Should i bother changing my ID no.? At the moment i sharked it to say 00007 but i might change it to something less suspicious. I'm getting Parnoid now...

Except that you don't see nicknames when you trade. You see the type of monster it is. So a weird nickname is not an excuse. But you do have the right idea. Someone posted that same solution earlier in the topic.

Having an official Mew at one point, the Trainer ID is LINKE. Didn't think of checking the ID No.

One solution: Get yer cousin with the official Mew and check the ID No. Hack and you're home free.

Another solution: Release all Mews, use the Remove Mew from PokeDex code, then after the finals shark all the Mews back.

If tournament officials give you problems about your Mew, tell them you'll take him off your team and replace him with a level 255 Starmie you have gotten using the MissingNo. trick which doesn't require a Gameshark.

It can't include the box trick, because someone could do that accidently.

And there was a Toys 'R Us Mew giveaway here in Gainesville in November over Thanksgiving weekend. I remember because cfalcon and his roommate had to stay here and work on their robots.

You can do the MissingNo. trick accidentally too. The Trade Pokemon version of it, definitely. But you can only get Level 80 MissingNo. that way. The Old Man version, that gives the L100+ pokemon, is hard to do accidentally...

Iyse, when is your tournament? I scanned the Mew certificate using my roommates scanner, and then edited it some. It doesn't look to bad. I need to hit it with Photoshop, and then I plan to PDF the stupid thing. I need to know if I need to bust my butt with this or if this isn't super high priority.

Anyway, I'm not sure whether it will be officially posted on Azure (haven't talked with anyone about it, and it violates copyright laws I think), but I'll post here if I have a usable PDF.

That mew out of the dex code is great, but what are rhe hex bytes for other pokemon to take them out? I used the all pokedex filled code for my experimental yellow cart, and it says
150 Mewtwo
151 Mew
152 Scyther(?)

It even gives the proper data, as well!

Me and Phil have loads of official UK Mews Luc, they're only normal Mews, just with the OT name UK on them. And that can easily by sharked. The trainer no's are all different for different mews. It doesn't matter what they are. AND you don't get a certificate with the Mews, just Mews.

Nahh, that's not it...
There were about 14 different machines that you could download Mew from, all of them had
OT:UK
But each one had a different OT#
So there are 14 offical OT# UK Mews
But no certificate....

Just say that you got a Mew thru a trade with someone and you don't know if it was sharked or not.

temporarally trade your mew to someone, and tell them you traded someone and traded back, jsut to get mew in your pokedex.
