On the Catching Pokemon page of the compendium, you say there is a 1/1048576 chance of catching a max-stat wild Pokemon, when in reality it is 1/65536.

I finally found something!

Nope.

Chance of finding a Pokemon with one stat maxed: 1 in 16

There are five different stats.

16 ^ 5 = 1048576

Methinks you forgot about HP.

But the attack and defense of the pokemon determine the HP DV. Perfect Attack + Defense = Perfect HP.

Or at least, that's how I think it goes.

Actually, it's all four of the other DVs that determine the HP DV.

The info is wrong and has been wrong for a real long time. And we know it...there just never seems to be time to fix it.

Maybe I'll give it a go soon...maybe not.

Really? How does it work? First bit is the first bit of the Attack gene, second bit is the second bit of the Defense gene, third bit is the third bit of the Speed gene, and fourth bit is the fourth bit of the Special gene? Or something like that?

All the last bits of the DV's.

Basically, start out with the HP DV at 0.

If the Attack DV is odd, add 8.
If the Defense DV is odd, add 4.
If the Speed DV is odd, add 2.
If the Special DV is odd, add 1.

And there you have your HP DV.

A Pokemon with genes of FFFF, or 15/15/15/15, has a perfect HP DV.

So say if your genes were 1/3/1/1 then you still achieve the perfect HP DV?

I thought it was just add up all of your DV's and divide by four... but then again, nothing is ever that easy.

*once thought the damage formula was attack rating + base power of move / defence of enemy = hp damage*
