Actually, it's all four of the other DVs that determine the HP DV.

Really? How does it work? First bit is the first bit of the Attack gene, second bit is the second bit of the Defense gene, third bit is the third bit of the Speed gene, and fourth bit is the fourth bit of the Special gene? Or something like that?

All the last bits of the DV's.Basically, start out with the HP DV at 0. If the Attack DV is odd, add 8. If the Defense DV is odd, add 4. If the Speed DV is odd, add 2. If the Special DV is odd, add 1. And there you have your HP DV. A Pokemon with genes of FFFF, or 15/15/15/15, has a perfect HP DV.

So say if your genes were 1/3/1/1 then you still achieve the perfect HP DV?
