From the sharkery overview page: The instructions for use of these codes tell you to keep the GameShark switch on, which causes the specified byte to remain constant
Isn't it two bytes, one per hex digit?

I just made the mistake of mistaking hex digits, which take up one nybble of space, for characters, which take up one byte. </evil confusing mode>
