Hi everybody.
I just came by to see if all the old Pokemon links I had stored in a long-forgotton file were still up. ^_^ I have to confess I sort of got out of Pokemon some time ago, meaning I just stopped playing it, but that doesn't mean I stopped liking it of course. [Smile] I guess Pokemon has sort of gone out of fashion now, or am I wrong? How is it where you live?

Regards

Meh, I'm in Poké-Country where I am, but, I surround myself with gaming fanatics so a few of em are bound to have played the game now or before. It's all good.

However, they hayday was STILL Gold/Silver, but the current gen is "alright"

It's definitely alive because of the activity of Ru/Sa play. But the RBY community isn't really that alive anymore, most people who will tell you "rby 4 lief biatches!!!!!!11111" have jumped ship to Ru/Sa themselves. I honestly don't know many more people besides myself who have been a consistent RBYer for over three years. But at least the RBY community is more alive than the GSC community, that community is about dead.

Sure you have people who love to RBY but most of them never really get the opportunity to RBY on a consistent basis anymore. I've gotten some good opportunities with some of the recent Gamefaqs tournaments (and winning them [Big Grin] ) but besides Gamefaqs I usually roam NB and see if anyone likes to RBY. Though I will admit I have a Ru/Sa team, I hardly play.

Not to destroy the positive image given my the other posters, but as far as I'm concerned, Pokémon is dead for me.

RuSa failed to excite me, so that spelled the end for me. It felt way too complicated to master, and the gameplay/story wasn't that new, fresh and exciting, so I felt it wasn't rewarding enough to struggle on with it.

I still think the Pokémon world is one of the best fantasy worlds ever created, though, and I still feel that it would be meaningful to rewatch the anime - I've seen the RuSa eps though and they're pretty boring and formulaic IMO - since the first seasons of the anime captured the sense of wonder I felt about the Pokémon world very well.

I guess when you're playing alone and have no one to battle, the adventure aspect of the game becomes more important. As RuSa failed to deliver anything really fresh in that department, I quicky lost interest in it.

Not saying that you should, though - train on, if it makes you feel good! Gotta catch 'em all, right? [Wink]
