I caught 31 Trapinch, and haven't ONE Modest or Mild one! I'm going to settle for Rash or something, because this is ridiculous o_o

One doesn't realize how hard it is to get a specific personality until one has spent hours trying to get one...and breeding will be hellish, because who knows how many eggs it will take to get the one I want @_@

*sigh*

I thought that was just my problem alone but I also am having trouble getting a Modest Abra out of the wild, and a Modest Mecham. I settled with Mild personalities. Breeding a modest personality is easier to get than in the wild for some reason? I don't know why either.

A lot of people think it's the hard way, but I breed for just about everything. If you pay close attention to everything that hatches, you can raise your chances of getting high stats.
When I was breeding Cacturne, I kept an eye out for (randomly generated) max SA IVs (even when the personality didn't match what I wanted). If you have a male and a female both with a max IV in a certain stat, your chances of that IV being randomly passed on are that much greater. It's not a science like in GSC, but the odds can be tipped.

Has anyone else had the same results TIDUSBLITZ has had with getting certain baby personalities after maxing out the parents on certain color PokeBlocks?

(Like feeding the parents only Yellow Blocks to get babies that are mostly Bold, Impish, Lax or Relaxed?)

Because if that was true, it'd be really useful (I havent got enough Blocks to test it out myself yet)

Tenshi I tested this out further. It seemed to be the case when I fed my abra red blocks trying something different. I kept getting Adamant, Brave, and Lax pokemon. I really wanted a Modest type though. So Finally I get Modest type (Not the same two I bred with the red blocks) out of two new freshly caught abras. Fed them blue blocks, It still didn't seem to matter much. Getting a Modest personalities worked better when I kept breeding Modest Parents over and over again. Forcing the personality. I came closer and closer to what i wanted.
So the blocks were wrong, it seemed right at the time but it was just the situation I was in. If blocks do have any effect at all, it has to have a very small effect.

Your best bet is to keep breeding until you get a Male and a female of the type you want. As Mr. 137 says you get better chances of increasing, maxing out that IV, and getting more of the personalities you want.

I noticed the other stats also increase everytime you re breed your pokemon. The down side is it takes a while. It gets very boring.

Tenshi I can say Berry blocks work excellent to attract the personalities you want in the Safari Zone! In the feeders. I caught Two Adamant Pinsirs, and two Adamant Heracross's doing this. Thats the only time blocks have an effect I think.

Anyway sorry about that, although the possiblity is still there, I wouldn't wait. The only thing I haven't tried is to constantly feed blue blocks to the new offsprings that I re breed again. I gave it to the main parents. So Someone can check that out if they want.

Actually I will check this out for you Tenshi, I will keep feeding blue blocks to every new breed I get and let you know. If that doesn't work then I guess it will be back to the basic breeding.

Tidus your not too far off on your theory. Feeding pokemon blocks raises happy stats. IT does have some effect on the new breeds. However the perecentage rate only goes so far. It will better your chances some where around the 15% range of getting the main personalities you want. Keep feeding every new breed the desired block.
