Ok, I've got two questions...
One question is, do you have to win so many battles in a row WITHOUT losing once at Battle Tower before you get anything except for the vitamins? Cause, I want to get some of the good stuff, i.e. Leftovers, etc... So far all I keep gettin are vitamins...
Also, is there any way to get Leftovers and some of the more popular held items besides b.tower?
Thanks...

I don't know what Earthbound is (besides that it comes in a rather large plastic case, and that it is considered a game), but I really did find my Leftovers in a garbage can in the bottom of the S.S. Tidal. I checked my book for other stuff and found: There's a lady in front of that flower shop on Route 104 who gave me a White Herb. I don't know when she shows up there. The teacher at the Trainer's school in Rustboro North of the fountain will give you a Quick Claw. Talk to the kid in the Northeast house in Fortree about his Wingull. Then go to Mossdeep and head to the house on the far East side of the island. Talk to a girl in there and then go back to Fortree. That first boy will give you a Mental Herb. King's Rocks can be picked up by pokes with the Pickup ability (1% chance, I think), taken from wild Hariyamas, or given to you by the boy wandering Northeast of the Pokemon Center in Mossdeep. In the Shoal cave (North of Mossdeep) during Low tide, go up through the only accessible door, up the stairs in front of you and you'll see a ladder going down on your right. (You have to go down some stairs to get there.) After the ladder, go up through all those stairs and up the other ladder. Then West across the bridge, South to the other bridge and East across it, North to a ladder going down, and you'll see a guy in a gi. He'll give you a Focus Band. Far as I know, Choice Bands and Scope Lenses can only be gotten as prizes at Battle Tower. Now, tell me more about Earthbound. EDIT: I haven't gone to Battle Tower yet, so I can't help with that question. [ 07-15-2003, 06:38 PM: Message edited by: 137 ]

You have to win quite a bit before you actually get the "good" items.
*checks a NP issue*
OK. According to this little section on Battle Tower, your first five 7 strait victories (after win 7, 14, and so on.. up 'til 35) you win the various stat boosting items. After that, every time you win 7 strait you will recieve one of these:
Bright Powder Choice Band Focus Band King's Rock Leftovers Mental Herb Scope Lens Quick Claw White Herb
So, basically, don't lose. If you do, you have to start your winning streak all over again.

There's more to it than that. I changed my team from Salamence/Absol/Milotic to Milotic/Blaziken/Raichu, and had to start my winning streak all over again XP Now, the game seems to not want to give me anything but vitamins- once I get to a 28 win streak, it starts the count all over again, even though I don't lose, leave the tower, or change my team in any way. God damned game.

Looks like fun. I assume when the folks on this site say Earthbound, they mean the SNES game, not the ROM? Too bad it's rare. And I have no credit card. And this isn't my computer so I can't check out 0. Once I start getting paychecks I'll peruse the flea market. They have all sorts of overlooked gems. And to be fair, I've never referred to myself as a "video gamer." Haha. Thanks for the heads-up.
EDIT:FonE, when you get 42+ victories, do the items you get go in the order you listed, or reverse order, or a completely different order, or randomly? If ya know. [ 07-17-2003, 06:04 AM: Message edited by: 137 ]

I’ve got like 30 leftovers from winning so fucking often. Really, just bring a lati, a Slaking and a Metagross. Cheap as hell.

The items are all randomly given. That's just a list of possibilities.
Yeah, basically as veloS said, Lati + Slaking + Metagross pretty much rape in battle tower. Latios, for me, does most of the work with bolt/beam combo and then Hyper Beam Slaking and Blaziken take care of loose ends on my team.
