Does anybody know if a Pokemon with an Ability that prevents stat reductions (like White Smoke, Clear Body) still suffer when their status is affected? Such as; normally Paralysis will lower the victim's speed. If my Torkoal is paralyzed, will his White Smoke prevent the speed loss? Same question with Burn's attack lowering thing.
Also, the Nintendo Guide says that Poison also lowers attack; did they change it or did the writers mess up?
Also, do these stat changes affect it by 1 "stage" or 2?
Thanks.

1. No. The abilities [White Smoke] and [Clear Body] only negate specific stat-lowering moves, such as String Shot and Growl.

2. They screwed up.

3. All stat-effecting status ailments lower the stat by 2 stages.

Whoops. The insane cleverness of my sig seems to have misled Tidus. I'll start looking for a new one.

3. All stat-effecting status ailments lower the stat by 2 stages.

Really? In previous games, PRZ quartered your Speed (the equivilant of a 6-stage drop), and the calculation has performed independently of the "+6 to -6" stages altogether.

Paralysis still quarters the paralyzed pokemon's speed.

Burn doubles the opponent's defense in the BDF when a burned pokemon attacks.

Those changes are not related to stages at all.
