Disclaimer: I'm not exactly sure if this will work in trainer battles. Heck, I'm not even sure if you'll get your item back afterwards. This is all purely theoretical and has not been practiced... yet. Use at your own risk...

We already know that Trick (user switches items with enemy) is somewhat useful: you can gimp people out of their oh-so-carefully planned items, have enemies swap items around and so on, all without having to leave your item spot empty. However, you can be gay and force a Macho Brace onto the enemy, lowering his speed slightly, sometimes enough to get the jump on it the next turn. Although not quite as good as the speed loss from paralyze (along with the lack of chance for FP), this leaves them open to be fuxxored even further with other status ailments. Assuming that item switches don't change with switch-outs, this speed change will pretty much stay for the whole battle... unless you get tricked into switching back.

Comments appreciated, kthnx.

If it is enough to get your tricker to go first the turn after it is used (assuming he went second initially), then it's absolutely worth it in trainer battles. Unless you're experiencing your own status problems, or something.
