Since I only got Sapphire the other day, and I haven't done a whole lot with RS before hand (some, but didn't a lot with it), maybe this question has already been answered...

But does Focus Punch work if the other guy switches on that turn? IE, other guy switches in to a 150 power fighting attack in his face.

I assume it does, but I want to be sure. This kind of bypasses Game Freaks "You have to be lucky and not get hit to EARN using this jesus attack" catch for Focus Punch, and makes it a jesus-caliber move.

Maybe they foresaw that and made it fail if they switch that turn. I dunno.

If the other guy switches, it's probably to something that resists Fighting attacks, so the balance still seems to be there.

Also note that the other guy will always know that he's switching into the hit, and that Focus Punch always goes last.
