...so said Meowth346.

He uploaded a calculator on his site and, since I don't have the power/type formulae yet, I tried to figure them out by using it. [Razz]

Here's what I found:

The power formula wasn't that hard to find out, although I'm rather unsure of how accurate I was:

Power = 0,635x + 30

where x is the binary concatenation of the IVs' least significant bits in the following order: SDef, SAtk, Spd, Def, Atk, HP.

Max is 70, just like it was in GSC.

However, I didn't manage to figure out the type formula, for the calculator yields Fighting type every time I put very different IV sets (must be a bug anyway [Razz] ). Does anyone have it?

I do know that in the Unown Hidden Power is based on the gender value. Not quite sure about the others, but it would be much easier to just use the hardly-used value for something other than a 50/50 thing. Why would they use one formula for one species and a different one for all the others?

1/1/1/1/1/1 = Dark, 30.

2/2/2/2/2/2 = Fighting, 70.

2/2/2/3/3/3 = Ice, 70.

14/14/14/14/14/15 = Steel, 70.

10/11/12/13/14/15 = Grass, 62.

This looks like the power is based on bit 4, and it's TYPE which draws from least significant bits.

I've found out how the power and type works...

Power is based off of the 2nd least important bit. I.e., the 2-valued one.

So, if you have a DV, here's what you can do to find out the power. This is probably not the simplest method, but it works.

If the value is even, v = 0. If odd, v = 1.
Take DV - v.
Divide by 2.
If the value is odd, then value is true.
If value is even, then it is true.

If SpcDef true then +20
SpcAtt = +10
Spd = +5
Def = +3
Att = +2

Now, why is it that having all of the above, added to the base 30, is only 69?

Hmmm....

Combos don't work as well with this as singular changes.

SpcDef + SpcAtt = 60 = +30
SpcDef + Spd = 55 = +25
SpcDef + Def = 52 = +22.... odd...
SpcDef + Att = 51 = +21
SpcDef + HP = 50 = +20

SpcAtt + Spd = 45 = +15
SpcAtt + Def = 42 = +12....
SpcAtt + Att = 41 = +11
SpcAtt + HP = 40 = +10

Spd + Def = 37 = +7....
Spd + Att = 36 = +6
Spd + HP = 35 = +5

Def + Att = 33 = +3
Def + HP = 33 = +3.....

Att + HP = 31 = +1.....

So... Yeah...

Values to make:
43 = Att, Def, SpcAtt OR HP, Def, SpcAtt
48 = HP, Def, Spd, SpcAtt
52 = HP, Att, SpcDef

Big bleh to power...

In any case, I am fairly sure I can figure out the type... Will post later with it.

All 31 = Dark
All 31, HP 30 = Dragon
All 31, Att 30 = Dragon
All 31, Def 30 = Dragon
All 31, Spd 30 = Ice
All 31, SpA 30 = Electric
All 31, SpD 30 = Steel

However, having HP 29 and all 31 is 69 Power Dark. HP 27 is the same as HP 31, in power and type.

So, it is based on the least significant bit... the 1 bit (Is the value odd or even? odd = true)

So... Let's take each ending bit, and put them into another bit value, HP through to SpcDef...
Actually, we'll start with Spd, since that gives a constant.

(Note; all these tests are done with 30/31 representing 0/1)

111/001 = 1 = Water
111/010 = 2 = Bug
111/011 = 3 = Ice
111/100 = 4 = Ground
111/101 = 5 = Electric
111/110 = 6 = Steel

Adding in Defense:

11/0001 = 1 = Fire
11/0010 = 2 = Rock
11/0011 = 3 = Psychic
11/0100 = 4 = Poison
11/0101 = 5 = Grass
11/0110 = 6 = Ghost
11/0111 = 7 = Dragon
11/1000 = 8 = Flying
11/1001 = 9 = Water
11/1010 = 10 = Bug
11/1011 = 11 = Ice
11/1100 = 12 = Ground
11/1101 = 13 = Electric
11/1110 = 14 = Steel

Still missing some types... adding in Attack:

1/00001 = 1 = Steel
1/00010 = 2 = Rock
1/00011 = 3 = Electric
1/00100 = 4 = Poison
1/00101 = 5 = Water
1/00110 = 6 = Bug
1/00111 = 7 = Ice
1/01000 = 8 = Flying
1/01001 = 9 = Fire
1/01010 = 10 = Bug
1/01011 = 11 = Psychic
1/01100 = 12 = Ground
1/01101 = 13 = Grass
1/01110 = 14 = Ghost
1/01111 = 15 = Dragon
1/10000 = 16 = Fighting
1/10001 = 17 = Fire
1/10010 = 18 = Rock
1/10011 = 19 = Psychic
1/10100 = 20 = Poison
1/10101 = 21 = Grass
1/10110 = 22 = Ghost
1/10111 = 23 = Dragon
1/11000 = 24 = Flying
1/11001 = 25 = Water
1/11010 = 26 = Bug
1/11011 = 27 = Ice
1/11100 = 28 = Ground
1/11101 = 29 = Electric
1/11110 = 30 = Steel

And now adding the HP Dv in..

000000 = 0 = Fighting
000001 = 1 = Steel (Same as 100001)
000010 = 2 = Ground
000011 = 3 = Electric (Same as 100011)
000100 = 4 = Flying
000101 = 5 = Water (Same as 100101)

000111 = 7 = Ice (Same as 100111)
001000 = 8 = Fighting
001001 = 9 = Fire (Same as 101001)
001010 = 10 = Rock
001011 = 11 = Psychic (Same.. blah)
001100 = 12 = Poison
001101 = 13 = Grass
001110 = 14 = Ghost
001111 = 15 = Dragon
010000 = 16 = Fighting (First repeat)
010001 = 17 = Fire (Wow, a pattern)
010010 = 18 = Rock (I like this pattern)
010011 = 19 = Electric (...Damn you, Pikachu!)
010100 = 20 = Poison
010101 = 21 = Grass
010110 = 22 = Ghost
010111 = 23 = Ice
011000 = 24 = Flying
011001 = 25 = Water
011010 = 26 = Bug
011011 = 27 = Psychic
011100 = 28 = Ground
011101 = 29 = Grass (First triple repeat)
011110 = 30 = Steel
011111 = 31 = Dragon
100000 = 32 = Fighting
100001 = 33 = Steel
100010 = 34 = Rock
100011 = 35 = Electric
100100 = 36 = Poison
100101 = 37 = Water
100110 = 38 = Bug

110101 = 53 = Grass
110110 = 54 = Ghost
110111 = 55 = Dragon

Anyways, it's really... odd. The types don't appear equally... I mean, they don't have the same probability to be gotten.

If you take SD/SA/SP/DF, that numbers bears a remarkable similarity to the number associated with type in the GSC formula. Some are exact matches, some have 1 added.

So the "odd/even" picture really comes down to "greater than 8/less than 8", and that's why only Steel has values of both parities. The 7->8 transition is the only one that flips the top bit.

Now, if only there were a formula that tells which values got the +1...
