In the interests of knowing exactly what Taunt does, I tried it out against a lvl 4 Rarutosu (with the dubious distinction of only knowing Growl).

Taunt managed to prevent Rarutosu from using Growl - it used Struggle instead, however, this only occured for the turns that Taunt was used.

This showed two things;

a) Taunt *does* affect moves that are not self-targetted, contray to what Fanha says on RSBot's attack descriptions.
b) Taunt only affects the turn it is used. Presumably also only when it goes first.

I think Destiny Bond carried over to the next turn if the Pokémon who went second used it, so it's possible that Taunt could do the same. Also, I wonder what would happen if the target had selected Growl but had one damaging move, or two, or three. Would it randomly select one of those attacks, or opt to Struggle? Would the attack menu show the non-damaging move(s) as "unavailable" like Disable does?

On a side note, I'm starting to wonder if Taunt could work well with Poison-oriented strategies or something, since you can prevent recovery...

Also, I heard a description of Taunt saying only allowing damage-dealing attacks can be used. Does this include moves that lower your own HP, as in a Ghost-type's Curse?

My test of taunt showed that hail and firefly light didn't work when taunt was used, as well as two other moves, but I don't remember which ones. I obviously didn't test all possible moves, because it would be very boring, but oh well. If the user is slower, it is carried to the opponent's next turn, and you can't use taunt that turn (you can't use it repeatedly if you're slower, but I don't know if you're faster).

Meh. If you want me to test taunt with some cibled moves, tell me the moves, and I'll test them.
