Alright, I am way to lazy to do this, but I was wondering if someone less lazy could put up a guide on determining DVs at a low level based on a combination of what you can find about DVs at that level and HP type and approximate damage against a certain common Pokemon at a given level. It would be extremely useful for people like me who don't like RCing all those levels...

What Nintendo doesn't want you to know
Uiru: "Now that we're all used to the rules, clauses and by-laws... what would happen to the metagame if every one of them were whipped away?"
GP-Chan: "id probably quit every battle, and not just every other battle."
ThumbsOfSteel: "Why, because they broke the rules?"

Fight lots of combination type pokemon, preferably ones with immunities. (HP a Houndour, then a Gastly, for example. If they're both SE, its Ground. One SE & one plain, its Water, etc) This is how I found my HP-Rock Meganium [Smile]

You're never going to even be able to approximate the numerical power of a Hidden Power without the DVs, but you can get its type by testing it on different Pokémon. Using it on a Pidgey and getting Super Effective means it must be Ice, Electric or Rock. Then you'd find a Pokémon that resists one or more of them and try again. You will quickly figure out what it must be by the process of elimination. (If it doesn't seem to be strong or weak on -anything-, it's probably Dragon. Find a Magnemite to be sure.)

...Then as I read over your post again, I realize that's not what you're asking. No, there is no way to pinpoint DVs with a Hidden Power. You can merely guess one of four possibilities for Attack and Defence. Speed and Special cannot be determined in this manner without a VERY large number of trials ran against Trainer House Pokémon (so you know what their stats are) and even then, Speed will either be >=8 or =<7 while Special will be 0, 1, 2, 7>=x>=3 or >=8. Go clone some Rare Candies; it doesn't take THAT long once you get five going at once. [Big Grin]
