You need:
2 Pokemon Cartridges (Gold, Silver, or Crystal, in any combonation, as long as both are not Crystal.)
2 GBCs
1 Link Cable

Play 1 version until you get a Blissey, raise it to L.100, with full stat exp., and delete any damage-deaing moves that it has (stuff like Defense Curl, Tail Whip, Growl, etc. can stay.) Clone it till you have 6, put them on your team, and Mystery gift with the (non-Crystal) cartridge. Now, take a Pokemon of any level, and give it Toxic, then go to the trainer house, use Toxic, then waste turns till Blissey dies, and repeat. 32-33K exp., in about 1 minute, with attack animations disabled. Once you're done, get your PP back, use time reset, and fight again. I don't recommend Dodrio mode, because while it might seem faster, after loading and exit-reentry times, it winds up slower. Only problem is you don't get much Attack and Defense stat exp., but, you could always mix in something like Golems or Scizors (with non damaging moves to fix that problem. Of course, you can use anything there, as long as it has strong Attack and Defense, and a decent amount of exp. (278/278/3,000 is my minimum).
EDIT: My damn keyboard keeps skipping letters.
EDIT: I hope this gets a better response then my Future Projects thread.

Never played GSC for GB, but it *sounds* like a good idea. You're sure it works?

Except that the stat experience is so b0rked by Lv. 100 that you spend half again as long scraping together the Attack and Defence genes. I, personally, would rather use a team of Mews. Not as much experience, but much less 'cleanup' afterwards. (You could use Ditto if you have no Mew, but... [Big Grin] )

And what 'exit-reentry' times are you going on about? You know you can reset while in Dodrio Mode by pressing A, B, Start and your Select shortcut (I like L), right? You don't have to exit or reenter anything.

(Didja know that if you start a new game while in Dodrio Mode, you can keep it until you exit the game? Once you leave, you have to play at regular speed until you beat the Elite Four or something.)

The idea, while not groundbreakingly original (I've done it with Blisseys before, which is why I can vouch for the 'betterness' of Mews) is still very good. Putting the Time Change password in every time is a pain, though. I have my own calculator made if anyone needs one. ^_^

This was known for a pretty long time. Someone suggested a team of
Mewtwo (Special) / Blissey(HP) / Electrode (speed) / Shuckle (def) and I think dragonite (attack).
Of course you can always mix match these, and say have snorlax for a bit of both HP and Attack. Mewtwo is always nice because it has some pretty high stats.

I think Mewtwo is the pokemon who gives the most experience points... not totally sure tho. Anyway, you could also try a belly drumming poke such as Snorlax (with no attacking moves, of course)... it's going to be faster to kill [Smile]

Actually, the basic premise for your idea was posted quite some time ago:

http://www.math.miami.edu/~jam/azure/forum/buzz/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000575&p=

However, as the old saying goes, "Great minds think alike." [Smile] I personally slap an Exp. Share on the critter I want to raise, send 'em out first, and constantly switch between that and a level 100 fighting Pokemon. It's faster than waiting for Toxic to kick in, but I get fewer experience points (~24,200 on a non-traded critter, ~36,000 for one that's been traded).

To claim mastery is to imply that there is nothing else to learn. Thus, I shall never be a Pokemon Master, since there's *always* something to learn.

Blissey, Dragonite, Shuckle, Mewtwo and Electrode only give the following stats:

HP- 532
Attack- 314
Defence- 515
Speed- 455
Special- 414

(These were all typed from memory and may not be 100% accurate; I think the Speed is too high, for example.)

No 'sixth member' in the game could have the almost 200 base Attack required to break even; and as far as stat exp goes any combination is only as strong as its weakest link. A team of five Mews beats this team at Attack, Speed and Special, while Health and Defence are marginally higher. I wonder if there's a combination that can beat six Mews?

Because I really have nothing better to do today...

HP: 636 AT: 640 DF: 660 SP: 640 SA: 644

One Mewtwo, two Houou and three Lugia give these stats. They are almost perfectly even; the 'weakest link' is Health; a mere 8 points off the average (which is 644). They are also much easier to obtain than Mew. [Smile]

I wasn't able to check this post for several weeks so I'm gonna go down and comment.

Except that the stat experience is so b0rked by Lv. 100 that you spend half again as long scraping together the Attack and Defence genes. I, personally, would rather use a team of Mews. Not as much experience, but much less 'cleanup' afterwards. (You could use Ditto if you have no Mew, but... )

Good point.

And what 'exit-reentry' times are you going on about? You know you can reset while in Dodrio Mode by pressing A, B, Start and your Select shortcut (I like L), right? You don't have to exit or reenter anything.

I remembered that exactly 33 seconds after logging off.

I also calculated the Dodrio times, but not using it. No one caught this error though.

Oh well. At least I came up with something original (for once). I re calulated the times, and came up with this:

Type 1 800K 64 Minutes
Type 2 1,000K 80 Minutes
Type 3 1,059,860 85 Minutes
Type 4 1,250K 100 Minutes

6 Type 4s in 10 Hours - Not such a bad idea.
Mew wouldn't work, since I have an aversion to Gamesharks, and Ditto could Transform into you, then use your moves against you. Another error no one caught is that on my first post, I used Golem and Scizor as examples. I'll let you figure out the problem with that statement.
