I was traning my Kanga on Red in stadium1 today and something really wierd happened. Kanga was out verse Hitmonchan. That bastard always uses Counter on me, so I switched to Articuno. HITMONCHAN used COUNTER. Critical Hit! I have my battle mode set to shift. I didn't even use an attack with Kanga before facing Hitmonchan. Has this been discussed already?

XMaster sent out ALAKAZAM!
Enemy Bruno's HITMONCHAN used COUNTER!
It's not very effective...
XMaster's ALAKAZAM fainted!"

I wouldn't call it a bug, really...
but whenever you use an OHKO move and miss in GSC, and the enemy uses counter, then it OHKOs you.

meh. Live and learn.

Hmm... IIRC, something like this was posted a looong time ago here in Research Lab. It was in RBY, it involved counter and switching... I think. I can't remember what it said though -_-;

I'd venture to say it's most likely that it doesn't clear the data of whatever move was used before the switch occured.
