You know, how Leech seed acts as another "round" of Toxic's deadly damage progression? I haven't heard any mention of it in G/S/C... a pity if they did, because it seems like Jumpluff would do well with it w/

Sleep Powder
Leech Seed
Toxic
Protect

You could use it to sleep the opponent, then switch out for another, and bring it back later to seed and toxic and protect.

What about changing Sleep Powder/Protect for Encore?

In a sense, Toxic Seed is worse because it doesn't build up the damage of Leech Seed, but otherwise it's better because you can now use Wrap or Mean Look or something of the sort to keep them trapped.

It's interesting to hear someone say "messed with the toxic seed combo?" when it was blatantly a bug about in the programming.

No

Remember stadium 1? If It was a glitch they would have removed it. as it was, they actually made it so the damage was reset after using rest, ergo, they new it occured, and kept it there.

10K, it's possible that the programmers couldn't correct the problem in time for the release date that Nintendo desired, because of that, they figured they would let it go and change it for the new games. So in a way it is a glitch, in a way not.

It's also possible that the same is true of Hyper Beam's Stadium 1 condition, as well as Focus Energy's, as well as sleep lasting for only three rounds... if you're gonna say one move is "just a glitch" you can't base your argument on a possibility of a programmer not having time to fix it. Especially when there's evidence that they already altered the move to make it perform in a different fashion. It would've taken just as much time for them to "fix" Toxic/Seed than make sure the cycle resets after using rest (like they did for Stadium 1). the fact that they kept it there AND altered it for Stadium 1 is testament to the fact that the Programmers were aware of Toxic's effect on Leech seed, AND they wanted it to remain.

The only reason I can forsee them doing away with it in G/S/C seems to be that correlated with Mean Look (like SD was saying) might be too powerful a combination...

So why is there so much controversy over Present, which was not only fixed for Stadium 2 but for Crystal as well?

What Nintendo doesn't want you to know
Uiru: "Now that we're all used to the rules, clauses and by-laws... what would happen to the metagame if every one of them were whipped away?"
GP-Chan: "id probably quit every battle, and not just every other battle."
ThumbsOfSteel: "Why, because they broke the rules?"
