Today's a day for research on my part. I just found this one out within the hour, and, I discovered it while trying to research something else, so, this was accidently found out...

You know the moves that do damage and prevent the opponent from switching? Here they are:

Bind, Clamp, Fire Spin, Whirlpool, and Wrap.

[I did this on Stadium 2 by the way]

I had Smeargle Vs Magikarp

The Smeargle knew Wrap/Fire Spin/Bind/Clamp.

I had already hit the Magikarp with about 4-5 Sweet Scents to ensure these moves would hit when Smeargle used them.

Anyway, the battle went like this.

Magikarp used tackle/flail
Smeargle used Wrap
Wrap connects and says Magikarp is trapped, or whatever it says...
In between turns Magikarp is hurt by wrap.

Next Turn

Magikarp used tackle/flail
Smeargle used Fire Spin
Fire Spin connects and says Magikarp is trapped, or whatever it says...
In between turns Magikarp is ONLY hurt by wrap!

I repeated this process in a similar manner with different attack combinations and it remains the same. What it boils down to is:

Out of the following moves, only one of them actually will hurt between turns when used successfully. And that is the one used first.

Bind, Clamp, Fire Spin, Whirlpool, and Wrap.

=====
So, even if you Bind, Clamp, Wrap, and Whirlpool the opponent, it will only do one of them in between turns, and that is the one you used first on the opponent. I'm guessing that if this hasn't been discovered already, it is because who would give a Pokémon a moveset like this to experiment with in the first place? hehe.

I don't understand.

"DarkSunrise: Heh, the things some people do."

"Mu: As if that wasn't just damn obvious."

You better not be mocking my research! I discovered this while working on something else that will be a much neater finding if/when I am done with it!

psykloak1, when I am done, I'm going to shove my findings down your throat!

Thanks for giving me another reason to complete my work. I don't want to say what it is or share any of it until it's "completely" done.

Maybe with 2 trapping moves, when 1 wears off, the other still works, and you can repeat the 1st trapper. Or just use a Look passing Umbreon.

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs, huge erections, and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

Excuse me but...some of you should shut up. MK is a great researcher, his findings are incredible!

Nope, if a Magikarp was wrapped and then fire spun, when it's released from wrap, the fire spin doesn't take over.

EDIT: Thanks JoHtO TrAiNeR for the support

Well MK, I think I speak for a lot of us when I say "What are you really trying to get at by doing this? What do you think you will find?"

Something new and interesting, I hope. hehe
