Hello. I was just wondering, does getting a critical hit increase the chances of causing a status effect? If this is not true, then what if the CH is induced by Focus Energy? On PBS, every time my Vaporeon uses Focus Energy and then Ice Beam, he seems to get a CH and freeze. All feedback appreciated.

Definitely not.

Critical Hits and status effects are two different parts of the Attack Process. Critical Hits are handled before status effects according to this process.
