I was just wondering if this Gengar moveset was possible, because I think it'd be pretty cheap...

Gengar:

Substitute
Perish Song
Mean Look
Protect

The problem I'm having is trying to get Substitute AND Perish Song together. Could Gengar breed with Smeargle? Cause that would solve my problem.

If that set won't work, I'll probably have to go with this:

Gengar:

Curse
Substitute
Protect
Mean Look
@leftovers

Yeah, he does lots of damage to himself though...

Gengar cannot breed with Smeargle.

Gengar learns Perish Song only through breeding.

As far as I can tell the

Substitute
Perish Song
Mean Look
Protect

moveset is not possible. If Substitute was a Gold/Silver/Crystal TM, then it could be possible.

This moveset will work

Curse
Substitute
Protect
Mean Look

Get a Gastly/Haunter/Gengar and trade it to RBY. Teach it Substitute via TM. Trade it back to G/S/C and teach it the other 3 attacks.

Why the hell would anyone use that? Unless your opponent gets Toxic'ed, and they don't switch out by the time you bring in Gengar, you can Sub, then Curse to max, and then sit around while hoping they don't bring out anything with Special Attacks. Nearly 100% pointless.

From what we've learned, it seems like you'd prefer girls dressed in ant costumes or something... -Kazuki (Regarding tl;dr)

Ah, Gengar's don't curse to max. They curse once and are then rooted. It works differently remember?

I wasn't saying that JoHtO TrAiNeR should or shouldn't use that moveset. I wasn't rating the moveset. I was merely saying if that moveset was possible or not, which is what JoHtO TrAiNeR asked.
