The chromatics daycare gives the stored pokemon 1 experience point per step as does the metallics day care. The metallics daycare, however throws a bit of a twist into things. It deletes all experience gained at its current level or all of the experience the poke has on the bar. Thus, if a pokemon has nearly reached the next level and is put in the daycare and quickly withdrawn, all experience gained at that level will be deleted. Many of you are already aware of this and the rest of you are wondering why bother. The reason is that stat exp. the poke gained at its level will not be deleted along with the experience gained. Now, time to refer you to my scant research.
L:42 drowzee without any stat exp. is taken and fights until it nearly reaches L:43. The drowzee is then dropped off at the daycare. When it is taken out, all experience gained at L:42 is deleted or rather, the drowzee's bar is empty. However, his HP and all other stats have risen by 2 points(it didn't even have to be put in the pc!).
Thus, max stat exp. can now be attained at any level. A good deal of you may have already suspected this when you first took a pokemon out of the daycare and for that I apologize for any pestering I may have caused. This will now make training for lower level cups a bit easier, especially with stadium 2 out.

Great work, incompetent! I can finally max out my pika cup team. If I had one, that is. It's great info anyway.

Not to sound snobbish or anything, but tghost, I, and probably others at the PokéFor forums have been using this for a long time for Little Cup ^_^ Of course, with Little Cup, since you can raise stats 3 points each at level 5, you just need to use ten of each Doping Item for two points per stat, then Day Care it until it's got the third for each ^_^

Yay! I was mentioned!

Anyway, I tested this a while back (2/1/01) on a few little Lv5ers. Though, I probably wasn't the first to discover it...

Actually, I didn't know this, and I was about to go sniff around the game for methods of erasing EXP or gaining stat EXP: basically little cup necessitates this.

The knowledge that this is possible also makes it "legal" to shark max stat exp, while before that required careful calculation of max theoretical stat EXP at a level (for petit cup, for instance).

It also is another thing that metallics influence in chromatics.

Thanks for posting that here. This is, after all, a repository for pokemon info!

I know I may sound like a complete idiot here, but I'm confused. For instance, let's say you do this with a Level 5 Pokémon. It's stats are recalculated, and thus, all stats gain 2 more points. Does this go by the DV of a level 5, or is it just the same effect as if you pumped it up with Stat Enhancers?

These things confuse me...*shrugs* Just call me the Absent-minded Pokémon Professor.....

If I understand you correctly, doing this trick is basically the same as doing the box trick. You gain stat exp. and it recalculates the pokemon's statistics according to the new amount of stat exp. This trick is no different from the box trick, except for the fact that some regular experience points are deleted.

You have to use the Box Trick to raise the stats, you're just also using a Day-Care trick to remove the experience gained, and allowing you to remain at the same level. It's a;

Battle 2 Unowns
Box
Day-Care

Battle 2 Unowns
Box
Day-Care

and repeat...

only, as pointed out, you don't have to box if you use the daycare.
