Paralysis is SUPPOSED to LOWER the enemy's speed, right?

I was using a Dragonite in Stadium and Thunder Waved the enemy. At this point, Dragonite was faster since it went first.

However, the next round, the opposing Pokemon went first.

I don't remember the details, but is this just a glitch or something that's been discussed?

Or could it be a special move that doesn't depend on speed like Quick Attack, Protect, Detect, Counter, or Mirror Coat? (just a question) But I'm guessing it was probably just the Quick Claw.

If the opponent went first, then it didn't use Counter or Mirror Coat...

He means if you used it, and went second.

I was watching my friend play stadium and this happened to him a bunch of times. I suggested to him that the opposing pokemon had quick claw attached and he said it didn't. I don't know if he knew for sure, but if the pokemon didn't have quick claw attached this would be very weird. Maybe stadium is cheating

This actually happens to me quite often.

I suspect its a glitch. It happens to me every time a opponents paralyzed pokemon switches, comes back still paralyzed but without the speed reduction.

It really bites when your team revolves around paralyses -_-

Live with it, who ever translated the game hired some really crappy programmers. Possibly from my class

Maybe the two Pokemon were at equal speed? If both pokes are at equal speed, there's a 50/50 chance on who'll go first

Cesar, wasn't it decided that at least in PokeStaRBY, swithcing an already paralyzed pokemon back in would take off the speed effects? Why would it work differently now?

I use Mewtwo, and I don't care if you think he's cheap or not. He'll always be on my team (except in situations where Mewtwo is banned for some stupid reason), including on G/S, not for stats, but because I like him as a pokemon. So there!

I just tested it in the original Stadium, and the speed loss from paralyzation does not go away if you switch the Pokemon out and back in.

Try it in the game boy, happens most often when you use roar (parashuffler) and in the trainer's house.

Thanks for the input, but it was probably the Quick Claw at work...
