Yeah, I know this has no relevance towards the overall gameplay of Pokémon here, not until September at least, but I'll post it anyways. If it needs to me moved, do so.Well, we all know that NoA is bringing out Crystal here for sure. As for the online battling, it's a different story. In Japan, most internet users use cellular phones, not computers as most of us here do. That's one of the big reasons why it's doing so well in Japan. But for us in America, only businesspeople have that kind of technology, and parents will be *really* wary when it comes to letting their kids own a cellphone. Then one day, while looking at a picture of a Mobile Adapter, I thought of something. If I'm not mistaken, isn't the other end(the cell phone plug) a USB port? Could this mean a way for all to battle in September? To those who can understand what I'm talking about.....what's your point of view? ------------------ --Utsugi "Love. Trust. Even though we know that Nintendo will allow online battling, how is the question. The best way for us here in America, would be through the PC, either connecting the MA to your USB port, or as PoKamek said, through a device that will connect to a parallel port.I've also done some small reasearch on i-moding, the Cellular Internet System in Japan. There, it's popular, since it's cheaper than a regular phone call. Only 650,000 Japanese families own a PC with internet access. Because of this function in Japan, it is simple and cost effective. It is also very fast loading, with the cell phones using a 9.8 kbps modem. So, let's look at this carefully: In order for one to get the Net Battling to successfully work here would be a 9.8 kbps modem or higher, and possibly a 486 as a minimum. NoA will probably be a bit more successful with this. Why? If you allow your GB to hook up to your PC to battle, you may have the time limit, but it wouldn't cost a dime. Problem is, if this is NoA's plan, they will not only fabricate the idea, but they would have to re-configure the process of logging on to Nintendo's server. (I'm not 100% sure on this, for one may be able to log in with their ISP first, then access Nintendo's server..) That's my semi-responded view on this....
