Basically, aftre the second Swagger (and you need two for the reset if he has 254 Attack or lower), he's pretty much back up to his starting Attack.

Forgotten in the river of time...
I've had an eternity to ponder the meaning of things...
And now I have an answer..."

You are correct. (Well, mostly correct. Using Swagger against Marowak is still slightly more effective than using it against other Pokemon.) Too bad...

I tested a Marowak against Mewtwo under various conditions. Here's the damage that a Headbutt did to El Cheapo in various trials (the number in parentheses is the damage when Marowak hit itself in confusion):

258 Attack, Thick Club attached

0 Swaggers: 103, 94, 105 (29)
1 Swagger: 2, 2, 2, 2, 2 (56)
2 Swaggers: 110, 101, 97, 103 (84)
3 Swaggers: 183, 193, 198 (107)

As you can see, Swagger will clearly do you good here. However, if the Marowak has the aforementioned "optimal" attack:

254 Attack, Thick Club attached

0 Swaggers: 105, 97, 96
1 Swagger: 192, 214, 214, 209 (56) (*)
2 Swaggers: 105, 105, 100 (82)
3 Swaggers: 186, 208, 208 (107)

(*) Marowak got a critical hit here once, and did 413 HP of damage.

As you can see, Marowak's Attack was not destroyed after two Swaggers, as previously thought. It just dropped back to around normal damage when using Thick Club, and went back up on the next Swagger.

For a control group, I did one more set of tests:

258 Attack, no Thick Club

0 Swaggers: 51, 48, 56, 51 (29)
1 Swagger: 107, 95, 95 (56)
2 Swaggers: 157, 147 (84)
3 Swaggers: 184, 195, 193 (107)

Here the damage increased as you would normally expect, even though the Attack topped 999 on the final Swagger.

Also note that Thick Club has no effect on the damage done by hitting yourself in confusion.

I hate Marowak.

I don't. Marowak is the alias of my ex-girlfriend. She rules. Still.

I even have a Marowak named after her. And it's the first of my pokémon to reach level 100.

This is a sig. Do not think as a subliminal message, saying "Give all your money to OrientalNoodle".
