can someone go into dept on how much damage these two moves do?....i know it has to do with how much the pokemon hates or likes u but does anyone know how to determine the strengths of the move...?

When ur PKMN is at its Happiness Quota, Return/Frustration's base damage is roughly 102.

"...the enemy switched his Magneton for a Mewtwo, I laughed, I knew i could take it with one Double Edge. The Mewtwo used a reflect. I was fully paralyzed. He used another Reflect, I did an Double Edge, only took like, 4th of his health. I was getting worried now. So i used a rest, with Mint Berry, I woke up that turn, he used another Reflect..." - Remy

Yes.

At the highest possible happiness level, Return does 102 base damage.

At the lowest possible happiness level, Frustration does 102 base damage.

Dunno what the formula is for other levels of happiness though

no one seems to know this, so i whipped out my emu and started sharking. threw together a team of five maxed-out wigglys and one maxed sandslash. all had recover, return, and frustration. slash was happy, wigglys had happiness of ff, aa, 55, and 00. put all five up against a maxed wiggly, then put the four wigglys against the sandlash, with each pokéy in each battle doing 20 returns and 20 frustrations. then did some algebra to figure out the base damage.

return varies from 102 to 0, directly proportional to happiness.

frustration varies from 0 to 102, inversely proportional to happiness.

i assume the equation for base damage is happiness (for return) or its inverse (for frustration) divided by 2 1/2. i doublechecked it against each battle and it SEEMS right.

'course i'll be pissed if this information is readily available already.
