I read somewhere that Mew learns Hidden Power at L50 or so in GS.

Is it useful on an official nintendo Mew? Will it produce a good attack, and of what power/type?

The DV's of a Nintendo Mew is 5/10/1/12/5, right?

I'm not that good at calculating all these formulas yet, so if someone could do this for me I'd be thankful.

I'm pretty sure the DVs change from 1 Nintendo Mew to another. So it could just be like another PKMN learning HP.

I'm pretty sure they don't -all my Mew's had the same starting stats, and I've been told via Internet that other peoples' Mews had the same starting stats: 15/16/15/16/15 or something. I think there is another thread about this somewhere though.

Both of my L100 official Mews have the same stats... It has a high 50 power water attack IIRC.

Is there a Hidden Power TM in G/S?

Yes, Hidden Power is a TM in G/S. One can be obtained in that little house in the upper-left corner of the Lake of Rage area. You can also buy as many as you need in the Celadon Department Store.

Just in case you still need to know, DVs of 5/10/1/12/5 will yeild a Hidden Power of a 56 Power Water attack. Saying as how Mew can learn Surf anyway, it really isn't worth it.

I dunno about that 50-water thing, but my brother's Mew has 60 Ghost and it's an official Mew...

It has to do with the OT/ID. All Mews with the same OT/ID will have the same DVs, and thus the same HP. My Mew is YOSHIRB, but I have yet to check it's HP, although I'm sure it sucks. The only HPs Mew can actually use are Dragon, Flying, Bug, and Dark.

Hey, I reply to my own post a year and a half later!

Lark84:
I read somewhere that Mew learns Hidden Power at L50 or so in GS.

Actually, it learns Ancientpower at level 50. But as noted above, Mew can learn Hidden Power via TM, so it doesn't really matter.

Automaton:
It has to do with the OT/ID. All Mews with the same OT/ID will have the same DVs, and thus the same HP. My Mew is YOSHIRB, but I have yet to check it's HP, although I'm sure it sucks. The only HPs Mew can actually use are Dragon, Flying, Bug, and Dark.

Hmm, are you sure about this? My Mew's OT is "LUIGIC" (I don't know the ID offhand), and it has the 5/10/1/12/5 genes.

Wait, I don't think Automaton is around any more...

My Mew's Trainer Name is YOSHIRA [I figured YOSHIRA was someones name]

I got him from a Toys R Us Promotion, I assume Automaton did the same...

Also, I got a couple of Mew's from a Nintendo mall tour and their names were likn LINKsomething (somethin like that)
