GameFAQS has a code for getting shiny Pokemon using the park. You start with 6 Pokemon, the 1st having FLY, the 2nd being the one you want changed, and the 6th being Shiny Gyarados. You put all into the box except for the flyer. You withdraw the Pokemon whose color you want changed. You go to the Park for the bug hunt, immediately go back inside, answer NO. Go back out, Fly to another town. Deposit the PKMN you want Shiny-ized, go back to the Park, and answer YES to complete the cycle. When this is done look in the box and your Pokemon should have been Shiny-ized.

Does anyone know if this works? I can't complete the code since for some reason every time I FLY out of the park when I come back they say the contest is over and I can't answer YES to complete the code. Anyone?

I'm not sure, but I think that's only for the Jap version of PKMN. I keep seeing that code and it has a message that says it is.

Yeah the code only works for Japanese Pokemon Gold/Silver. The thing I'm wondering is, in Japanese Gold/Silver, could you use that code to instead grant perfect DVs to all your pokemon? I'll have to try sometime. The idea is to somehow get a single pokemon of any species with perfect DVs (through luck or lots of work) and use him instead of the red Gyarados. Then you could quickly make all your pokemon have perfect DVs, right? I'm not sure I have to try it later on.

How come that all cool/fun/awesome codes in japanese games always are deleted when they are released in the US?
