As you probably know, Explosion and Selfdestruct have base powers of 170 and 130 in Chromatics, respectively. However, the defender's Defense is halved when they're used, giving them "effective" powers of 340 and 260.

Now, the Metallic data I have lists their base powers as 250 and 200. Are these doubled like before, making them stronger (500 and 400) than in R/B/Y? Or is that their final power, meaning they're a lot weaker?

Yes, they halve the opponents defenses when calculating damage.

No matter what you read or what you're told, experience will always yeild the truth.
