I am not sure, but I am just guessing that Beat Up is as if...each pokemon in your team does 10 Dark damage to your enemy...and the damage adds up to around 60 Dark damage (if you have 6 pokemon alive). But each pokemon's 10 damage is based of their individual Special Attack. So maybe if you did Beat Up with a Dark pokemon, but the other 5 pokemon on your team were all Mewtwos (cheating perhaps, but technically legal), your Beat Up might do mega-whopping damage because each Mewtwo has such high Special Attack. The thing I'm not sure of is, would the extra 10 damage each Mewtwo does gain the 1.5x Same Type Attack Bonus, since Mewtwo is not of type Dark?

Am I the ONLY one who uses TeamPA?
quote: Taken from: TeamPA http://www.teampa.f2s.com Does 10 base damage plus an additional 10 for each Pokémon in your team, unless their status has been altered (are Frozen, asleep, etc.). Damage is based on the individual Special Attack's of the team members, and not just the Pokémon who ‘initiates’ the move.

TeamPA is not always 100% clear on what moves do, although in general do they a very good job. That explanation you just posted didn't explicitly answer the question I had just asked.
