I raised my Quagsire to L59 to get Haze for breeding purposes, but noticed it learned Mist as well. If I recall correctly, Mist blocks all stat-changing moves like Screech, Swords Dance, Agility, ect... I've never used Mist because it was pretty pointless in RYB, but how well does it work in G/S? If I mist at the start of the match can I block Baton Pass-ers for the whole match like Spikes? Or will Mist wear off like Mean Look when Quagsire goes down?

Sorry, mist only works on status lowering affects...

I.E. Screech, Leer, Growl, ect.

It blocks everything that affects you (Screech, Sand Attack, the Speed-lowering side effect of Bubble, etc). I doubt it blocks Swords Dance and such, but I haven't tested it...

Is there any difference between Mist and Safeguard?

A Pokemon with Mist up can still be put to Sleep, Paralyzed, Poisoned, Burned, Frozen, or Confused.

A Pokemon with Safeguard up can still have its stats, evasion and accuracy messed around with, i.e. Sand Attack, Sweet Scent, Screech.

Is Mist switch-passable?

I mean, if the rumours are true about Thick-Bone equipped Marowak losing all their Attack if Swaggered, this could come in useful.
