Also, does anyone know a code that will ALWAYS result in a shiny pokemon? and, does anyone know a code that will always result in a cretain gender?

The chances of running into a shiny pokemon are the same. Has any one elsed actually thought of the idea that shiny pokemon might just be the max stat pokemon? I mean there stats are above average when compared to others. This is just a thought.

For a Pokemon to be shiny, the Defense, Speed, and Special genes all have to be set to A (10). The Attack gene can be anything, meaning the derived HP gene will be either 0 or 8.

The odds of this happening are 16:65536 = 1:4096.

I'm not sure if it also applies to the English version, but it is very likely so.

They Shinies aren't max gened. They have low some stats, high others...they do all have the same genes, but they're mediocre. When you catch Gyarados, you can tell what genes it has.

If it's the same as the Japanse version, the odds are 1/8192 (there are only 8 possible shinies: not any attack value will work).
