Apparently, attacks which are "super effective" do a minimum of 5 damage, no matter how weeak they are. As a test:

Charizard, level 42 (103 special)

vs

Pikachu, level 3 (8 Special)

In nine attacks, Pikachu did 5 damage each time, even though the formula predicted 0.1 damage. And critical hits have the same minimum -- the ninth Thundershock was a critical hit but did only 5 damage like the others. Now, to see if there's a different minimum for *4 effectiveness...

Charizard, level 43 (94 Defense)

vs

Hiker's Onix, level 19 (??? Attack)

Rock Throw got three critical hit for 34 twice and 31 once, and two noncritical hits for 22 and 23 damage... this means that if there's a minimum damage for *4 hits it's 22 or less. And all of these are higher than what the formula predicted (even with a max attack Onix it said 10 for normal hits and 20 for critical hits)... hmm...

Anyone with a higher-level pokemon with a *4 weakness wanna test this?

interesting, but I think its not a glitch or anything, just the fact that the programmers thought dealing .1 damage just was unreasonable, and besides, when would a battle between a 99 and a lvl 1 occur. So they put in the minimum damge thing.

A min damage thing doesn't make much sense.

Are you sure it's not just a product of the way the BDF works? Maybe there's something wrong with the "official" ripped version?
