Whats up with the speed in GB? I was fighting a Tauros with my Starmie, I T-waved it then sent out Rhydon, the Tauros rested and Rhydon was STILL faster than it...then when both Tauros and Starmie were paralyzed, it was like a random pick to who went first..has this happened to anyone else?

Resting removes the PAR status, but not the Speed loss. They have to Rest and then switch out to get their Speed back.

Was this changed in Stadium by any chance?

Are you sure the tauros and the starmie didn't have the same speed? It is possible if the starmie had a low speed DV and the tauros had a high one. It could also be that they were close enough that when they got the 1/4 speed reduction that the speeds were rounded to the same amount. The only other thing I can think of is that starmies are evil and that might have something to do with it...

No, the Tauros and Starmie both had max stats so since their speed was cut in half, and Starmie has a higher speed by 10, then the Starmie should go first

Isn't there a random chance of the slower Pokemon going first if their Speeds are close enough together?

PAR cuts speed by a factor of four.

Not that that's really signifigant here.

Its the same with burn, since it cuts attack in half. You won't be hurt by the burn anymore but attack will still be weak.
